Well, I've now called Verizon twice. The most recent time, the Customer Service rep reset my internet from the offices. It went up to 4.7 Mbps download, 2 Mbps upload. 5 minutes later, I ran another test and it was down to .4 Mbps upload, .29 Mbps upload. It's 10% of what it should be!
EDIT: Okay, so my 3rd call to customer service gave me a real douchebag who didn't help me at all. He told me it was a problem with my Mac, and that I should update my Network Card. I told him that it was also my XBox Live that was lagging horribly, and he said this: "We don't officially support XBox Live, but if you're lagging, you should upgrade to a faster service plan". I said no, I'm not paying extra money just to fix something that should already work. I could tell he just wanted to get me off the Customer Support line because he kept offering to transfer me to Billing. And when I refused, he simply told me that was all he would do for me. So I called back. The 4th rep was extremely helpful. I told him right off, I've got a Windows laptop, a Mac computer, and an XBox 360, all with extremely slow internet when connected to ethernet. I also told him I spoke to three representatives who did not help me. He said this: "If it were me, I would not stand for it; I'm a huge Live guy myself". So we worked to fix it, and got my internet running at 3.3 download (5 Mbps service), and he told me he would refer me to the Technician who's in charge of the internet going to my house. He told me that he should be able to help, and that if I didn't notice a difference in my internet within 2 days, I should call back so they could send someone out to my house.
So, it's finally working, and hopefully will be working better by tomorrow, after 4 calls to customer service. But that's Customer Service, you've got the extreme douchebags, and extremely helpful people.
